Help Walk And Phone For Our Candidates
The key to winning is VOTER TURNOUT, and the secret to that is repeated direct contact with the voters in person and by phone. This Saturday, September 27, we will be doing a Mega-Walk for the entire Democratic ticket, from Obama and Biden all the way down the ballot to Constable. We've got the best Obama/Vote Democratic literature in town, and we're putting together realistic walk lists focused on reaching friendly Democrats and Democratic leaning voters. We'll also have a big lunch celebration featuring lemonade and pizza.
Training starts at 9 AM, with the first shift going out at 10 AM, and the second one after lunch at 2:30 PM. We'll be walking out of the Coordinated Campaign Headquarters at the Centrum Building, Suite 470, at 3102 Oak Lawn Avenue (at Cedar Springs), Dallas.
Building Access: Park in the underground parking accessible on Welborn Street, on the southeast side of the building. Use the garage elevator to go to Level 1. Find the Office Tower/Diesel Fitness lobby and use the elevators there to go to the fourth floor. Call 214.523.8080 if you need assistance accessing the space. We will have spotters to greet you.
We're also phoning voters from the same location during regular phone banking hours: Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 PM. Come on by: it's fun as part of a team effort.
Individual candidates are also doing still more walks of their own. For instance, State Representative Roberto Alonzo is having a Voter Registration walk for his House District 104 also on this Saturday, starting at 8:30 AM at Morelia's Restaurant, 2707 W. Jefferson in Dallas. To RSVP or for more information call (214) 943-8683 or email to alonzopc2003 AT yahoo DOT com. (He'll be doing a get-out-the-vote walk on Saturday, October 18th, also starting from Morelia's at 8:30 AM.)
State Representative Allen Vaught is also hiring walkers. The campaign writes "We pay $7.50 an hour, and walk EVERY DAY including weekends. Walkers don't need experience, just dedication and commitment. Those interested should contact Charlie Taylor at 214-826-7179, or email to charlie AT allenvaught DOT com."
Several other local campaigns are hitting the streets and phones. You can find a list of them all with links and contact information at this page. Volunteering to help any of them helps the entire slate as we reclaim the country, state, and county for the American people
